Book Week Scotland is the time to celebrate books and reading wherever you are and Dundee Libraries are delighted to share their programme with you.
Take the Stress Test with Ian Robertson: Monday 21st November, Central Library, The Wellgate, Dundee DD1 1DB
Psychologist and neuroscientist Professor Ian Robertson’s latest work is a highly enjoyable and interesting book on modern stress research. In it he explains why we react to pressure in the way we do, how we can shape our brain’s response and answer the question: can stress ever be a good thing?

Helen Sedgwick has an MLitt in Creative Writing and won the Scottish Book Trust New Writers Award in 2012.
Described as One Day meets The Time Traveller’s Wife, this debut novel from a former research physicist uses comets as a way of bridging time in a scientific romance that follows its characters from 1066 to present day Antarctica.

An afternoon of “Bloody Torment” with TF Muir: Thursday 24th November, Central Library, The Wellgate, Dundee DD1 1DB, 2.00-3.00pm
TF Muir‘s Detective Chief Inspector Andy Gilchrist has another crime to solve in the old grey town of St Andrews. When a two year old girl is reported missing, Gilchrist is assigned to the case, but he suspects that the child’s mother may be responsible for her daughter’s disappearance, or worse, her murder.
Blood Torment is Frank’s sixth police procedural and has been described as “a slow burn thriller that is impossible to put down” by Caro Ramsay.
This is a free event for adults. Tea and coffee will be available from 2pm and Waterstones Dundee will have Frank’s books available for sale and signing.

Dundee FC Heroes, Legends and Champions with Kenny Ross: Saturday 26th November, Coldside Library, 150 Strathmartine Road, Dundee DD3 7SE, 11.00-12.00 am
Kenny Ross was born and educated in Dundee and is a huge Dundee fan attending his first match age 3! After gaining his degree and teaching certificate he is now working as a history teacher in Newcastle.
Now official club historian, Kenny has written five books on the history of the Club, one of which” Its all about the memories” was nominated for Sports Book of the Year 2012.
He writes regularly for the official Dundee FC web site and does the live updates and post match interviews on match days and, despite living in the north east of England attends most games and since 2014 has been Chairman of The Dundee FC Supporter’s Association.
This is a free event for all fans of sports writing (and of Dundee FC). Tea and coffee will be available after the event and Waterstones Dundee will have Kenny’s books available for sale and signing.
